What is a weighted grade?
A weighted grade accounts for the fact that different assignments contribute different amounts to your final grade. A final exam worth 40% of your grade matters more than a quiz worth 5%. This calculator multiplies each score by its weight to give an accurate overall grade.
What score do I need on my final exam?
Enter all completed work with their weights, then add a 'Final Exam' row with score blank and just the weight. The calculator shows what score you need on the remaining work to hit target grades of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 95%.
What does the weight percentage represent?
Weight is the percentage of your total grade that assignment contributes. All weights should add up to 100%. Example: Homework 20% + Midterm 30% + Final 50% = 100%. If your weights don't add to 100%, the calculator shows what's left unassigned.
