Palworld Breeding Calculator

Find parent combinations for any Pal using the breeding power formula. Forward lookup (what will I get?) and reverse lookup (what parents do I need?). Includes top 20 most-searched combos.

How Palworld breeding works: Every Pal has a hidden Breeding Power (BP) ranging from 10–1500. Child BP = Floor((Parent1 BP + Parent2 BP + 1) / 2). The game maps the result to the closest matching Pal. Use the calculators below to find what offspring two parents produce, or find all parents that produce your desired Pal.

The breeding formula — how it works
Child BP = Floor( (Parent1_BP + Parent2_BP + 1) / 2 )
Example: Breeding Cattiva (BP: 20) + Penking (BP: 110)
→ Child BP = Floor((20 + 110 + 1) / 2) = Floor(131 / 2) = Floor(65.5) = 65
→ The game maps BP 65 to the closest Pal — in this case Anubis (BP: 850) is too far, but with the right parents hitting BP 850 exactly you get Anubis.

Special combinations: Some Pals like Shadowbeak, Frostallion Noct, and Jetragon require specific parent pairs that override the formula entirely. These are hardcoded by the game.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Palworld breeding formula?
The child's Breeding Power is calculated as: Floor((Parent1_BP + Parent2_BP + 1) / 2). Each Pal has a hidden Breeding Power (BP) between 10 and 1500. The game averages the two parents' BP values and maps the result to the closest matching Pal.
How do I breed Anubis in Palworld?
Anubis has a Breeding Power of 850. You need two parents whose average BP equals 850. One reliable combination is Cattiva (BP: 20) + Penking (BP: 110) — but many combinations work. Use the Tool 2 reverse calculator above to see all possible parent combinations for Anubis.
How do I breed Shadowbeak?
Shadowbeak (BP: 790) can be bred from Katress + Kitsun or Gobfin + Suzaku among others. Shadowbeak is not a special combination Pal, so the standard formula applies. Use the reverse calculator above to see all combinations.
How do I breed Jetragon?
Jetragon (BP: 840) requires specific parent combinations targeting BP 840. Try Relaxaurus + Ragnahawk or similar high-BP pairings. Note that some legendary Pals have special hardcoded combinations — always check the reverse calculator and confirm with an up-to-date source as the game receives updates.
What are special combination Pals?
Some Pals require specific parent pairs that ignore the breeding formula entirely. These include Frostallion Noct (Frostallion + Shadowbeak), Necromus (requires Paladius), and several fusion Pals. Special combinations are hardcoded by the game and cannot be calculated from BP values alone.
How does passive skill inheritance work?
Passive skills have a chance to inherit from either parent: ~40% chance for 1 skill, 30% for 2, 20% for 3, 10% for 4 skills to transfer. The Legend passive skill (+20% all stats) is the most desirable. Chain breeding — transferring the same skill across multiple generations — is used to stack multiple powerful passives on a single Pal.
What is Breeding Power (BP)?
Breeding Power is a hidden value assigned to every Pal, ranging from 10 (Lamball) to 1500 (rare high-tier Pals). It determines what offspring will result from any breeding pair. The values are hardcoded by developer Pocketpair and do not change unless a game update modifies them.
How do I breed Frostallion Noct?
Frostallion Noct requires a special combination: breed Frostallion + Shadowbeak. This is a hardcoded exception that overrides the normal BP formula. Both Frostallion and Shadowbeak are late-game Pals, making this one of the most challenging breeds in the game.
Does breeding work cross-element?
Yes. You can breed Pals of completely different elements. The offspring element is determined by the resulting Pal, not the parents' elements. Breeding a Fire and Water Pal can produce an Ice-type offspring if that is the closest Pal to the calculated child BP.
How do I get cake for breeding?
Craft cake at a Cooking Pot using: Flour (x5), Red Berries (x8), Milk (x7), Egg (x8), Honey (x2). Flour requires wheat and a Mill. You need at least one cake in the Breeding Farm chest for breeding to begin.
